Chinese New Year (CNY)

Partying under 'The Shed"

We seem to be having quite a few barbecues at the marina.  Every couple of weeks some boat is leaving or there is a holiday of some type.

It’s not hard in Malaysia where the Indians, Chinese, and Muslim groups have plenty of celebrations.

We had a nice party under the shed for CNY.  This is when we learned what the big sign saying 35,000 LED Fantasy was all about.

More and more LED's
Marina Island rents out space occasionally for things like Bouncy Castles, Water Slides, Go Carts, etc.

It turns out that some entrepreneur got 35,000 LED things and made a display for CNY.  It was open for a few weeks but the big shebang was actually on CNY eve when they would have a dragon, etc.

Well, a bunch of us went over to check it out.  There were heaps of people even though the entry fee was $5 per person, which is pretty steep for a Malaysian.  They must surely like LED’s and fluffy dragons.

You have to understand that where we are is not a big town and it’s kind of ‘country’.  So anything cheesy it to be expected.  Well, it was a little cheesy but we all had fun anyway.

My big question is where did all the LED’s go now that they've packed everything up.

They must have needed to make room for the next Bouncy Castle event.
